Joy Riders aims to use cycling as a way to increase physical exercise and improve wellbeing in young women who have issues around emotional wellbeing and low self image, who are experiencing poor physical and mental health and who are not currently active

Who it is for:

Young women aged 14-20 who are referred to The Bridge Education Centre by:

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services

or

Highschool Guidance Department

The teams involved will liase regularly to ensure a good shared knowledge of the running of the project and the needs of the current participants.

What we do:

1-1 meetings with participants to maximise engagement

Group sessions with high staff to participant ratio

Use cycling to promote increased activity and increased confidence

Focus on what is important to participants, promoting improved mental and physical health, increasing wellbeing, interaction with nature and social connections

One evening or weekend rides per month
