{for the love of bikes} - a short film from velocity

Last week we released a short film, shot and directed by Glasgow film-maker Bartosz Madejski which shows what cycling and the Velocity community mean to us - adventure, friends, well-being, sustainable transport and good local food. It was made with support from the nice folk over at The Climate Challenge Fund, and we think it really shows what a great wee city Inverness is, as well as how much we love cycling!

Kitchen Refit 27th - 29th April

We're really excited at the prospect of some big changes to the service area in the cafe at Velocity next week. Thanks to support from Foundation Scotland's Enterprise Ready Fund, we've been working with local company Makar Natural Construction to redesign our kitchen and they will be installing the finished piece of beautiful design from Sunday 27th - Tuesday 29th April. We're also getting a new coffee machine from La Marzocco, which might even make your coffee taste even better...

This means that the cafe and bike workshop will be closed, but it will definitely be worth it! Evening classes will be going ahead as planned, so feel free to book for the Advanced Wheels course on Monday as normal.

Pop in to see us on Wednesday and check out the results.

Where Did You Get Those Mugs?

We get lots of comments on these lovely mugs {perfect for wrapping cold hands round on a cold day}.  Where did we get them?

They are made by Julia Smith, who has her workshop just along the road in Ardersier.  We cycled out to see her and she gave us a tour of her workspace.  We couldn't resist getting some of her lovely pots in for the cafe {we might have got some for home too}.

Julia's website is here: www.juliasmithceramics.com; you can find out more about her work, and where to get your hands on some.
