Jenny heads up our work with Secondary Schools. For the first year of the Go ByCycle project we are working closely with two Secondary schools in Inverness; Millburn Academy and Charleston Academy.
We believe that riding a bike has so many benefits that are really important for growing minds; increased physical activity and health, positive engagement with peers and community; a sense of their freedom and ability to make their way in the world under their own steam. We believe that if we support children in active travel during the early stages of Secondary school they are much more likely to continue these habits as they move up through school. That's why we're working closely with S1 and S2's, delivering a range of fun and interesting sessions that provide both skills and knowledge to get and keep them using their bicycles.
