Milk Kefir & Fermented Oats workshop

  • Velocity Café & Bicycle Workshop 1 Crown Avenue Inverness, Scotland, IV2 3NF United Kingdom (map)

Limited spaces, please book via Ticket Tailor.

Join us at Velocity Café for a practical workshop with Hannah from Gutfeelings to learn two different fermenting techniques - milk kefir & fermented oats!

Hannah Taylor is a registered Nutritional Therapist based in Moray, Scotland and specialises in Gut Health. With a food first approach and an understanding of our biochemical individuality, Hannah aims to empower people to support their health in an enjoyable and realistic manner.

In this workshop, you will learn how to make kefir milk, kefir yoghurt, kefir cheese and fermented oats. Kefir is an incredible health product containing a high quantity of beneficial microbes that support gut health and overall wellbeing. Due to the nature of making kefir, this course will predominantly be a demonstration of how to do the process at home but each participant will go home with their own jar of kefir grains and fermenting milk.

We have some fantastic small scale farms in the Highlands and Moray who offer milk without the plastic bottle wastage. Sadly all kefir from the shops comes in plastic bottles too so learning how to make this at home could enable you to support local, small scale dairy farmers plus reduce your plastic waste.

Participants need to bring with them: a clean, empty jar and lid (300ml-500ml) and an apron.

A hot/cold non-alcoholic drink of your choice will be served between 6.00 - 6.30pm. The workshop will start at 6.30pm.
